Serie de Las Americas Recap: Three Dominant Wins on Day Four 

Day four of Serie de Las Americas had even higher-scoring games than day three’s games. Here were the results from day four of the tournament: two games at Estadio Nacional Soberanía and the middle game at Estadio Roberto Clemente.   

Curacao 12 – Argentina 2 

Curacao remained undefeated after yet another blowout win. This time, they defeated Argentina 12-2.  

The Argentinians scored one run in the first inning, but Curacao scored in every inning except one. The team finished with 11 hits, and five players had an RBI.  

Ray-Patrick Didder had four RBIs, which included a three-run home run.  

Curacao’s hitting was also lights out as the staff combined for nine strikeouts, with Alvaro Seijas earning the win.  

Nicaragua 11 – Panama 5 

Nicaragua improved to 3-1 in the tournament with an 11-5 win over Panama.  

The Nicaraguans slowly tacked on runs to go up 3-0 heading into the fifth inning. However, Panama would tie the game up with RBI knocks from Austin Hall Dennis and Abraham Rodriguez 

Nicaragua would pull away with back-to-back four-run frames. Before you knew it, it was an 11-4 game heading into the seventh inning.  

Designated hitter Emmanuel Trujillo had a fantastic day for Nicaragua. He finished with three hits and three home runs.  

 

Colombia 12 – Cuba 1 

Colombia dominated Cuba to earn their first tournament win as they defeated them 12-1.  

The Cubans got a run in the first inning, which would be the end of their scoring. Colombia’s Oddy Joel Nuñez Baez threw a complete game, allowing just four hits throughout the contest.  

Four different Colombia batters had multiple RBI in the game. Jesus Adalberto Marriaga Montalvo led the way with four RBI in the game. He also hit a triple.

Curacao: 4-0 

Nicaragua: 3-1 

Panama: 2-2  

Argentina: 1-3 

Colombia: 1-3 

Cuba: 1-3

Cuba v. Argentina – 3 p.m. – Estadio Nacional Soberanía 

Nicaragua v. Colombia – 7 p.m. – Estadio Rigoberto López Pérez
