Shohei Ohtani continues to be a star on and off the baseball field. Since his arrival in the MLB in 2018, the 30-year-old Japanese phenom has become a household name and the face of the MLB.
Last month, Ohtani and New Balance announced the release of the “Shohei Ohtani Signature Collection.” One significant aspect of the collection is Shohei’s signature cleats, the Ohtani 1. Since the announcement of the collection, fans have been eager to learn details about the cleats.

The Ohtani 1, scheduled to be released next week on July 15th, will be available on the New Balance website for $120. The cleats make their anticipated debut in two colorways: white with metallic gold and black with metallic gold. The metallic gold New Balance logo and Shohei branding highlight both shoe styles.
The cleats also provide athletes with benefits that will improve their performance. A CPU-molded upper features superior durability designed to withstand the repeated toe drag motion that comes with pitching. The toe box includes a raised triangle pattern reminiscent of ceilings at some stadiums in the NPB.
The shoe’s sole provides traction on artificial surfaces. Thanks to the lightweight, synthetic mesh underlays, athletes can stay cool while wearing Ohtani’s signature cleat. The shoe also provides comfortable wear with extra padding around the tongues and ankle collars.
With these sneakers soon to be released to fans, they will be a hot commodity for MLB and sneaker fans.
