SSG Landers Re-sign Starting Pitcher Drew Anderson

The SSG Landers re-signed right-handed pitcher Drew Anderson to a one-year, $1.2 million deal on Saturday. The move comes one day after the Landers acquired MLB veteran Mitch White as they continue to build their 2025 rotation.  The 30 year old Anderson just finished his first season in the KBO and pitched to a 3.89 ERA for the Landers.

A 2012 21st-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies, Anderson compiled a 6.50 ERA over parts of five MLB seasons. Despite his struggles in his brief MLB stints, the right-hander posted a solid 3.47 ERA in 125 career minor-league appearances and had an impressive 1.88 ERA with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in the NPB 2023. Anderson joined the Landers in 2024 and immediately became one of their most effective starters, registering a terrific 11-3 record and striking out 158 batters in just 115.2 innings.

Unfortunately for the Landers, Anderson was unavailable in the team’s one-game tiebreaker against the KT Wiz, resulting in a 4-3 loss that forced them to miss the playoffs by one game. The team has already had an active offseason with the addition of White and the extensions of Anderson and KBO home-run leader Choi Jeong. The SSG Landers will enter 2025 as one of the biggest threats to the defending champion Kia Tigers.
