Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico
No. 1 Tomateros de Culiacan 12, No. 8 Venados de Mazatlan 5 – Christian Santana hit a three-run homer in the third and teammate Dwight Smith Jr. went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, three walks, three runs scored, and an RBI as the Tomateros splattered the Venados to take a 3-0 series lead. Ramiro Pena hit a two-run homer for Mazatlan and drove in another run with a sac fly.
Charros de Jalisco 3, Aguilas de Mexicali 1 – Luis I. Rodriguez threw 5 1/3 innings allowing one run on four hits, walking four and striking out two for Jalisco, which took a 2-1 series lead with the win. Alfredo Hurtado scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, and two pitches later, Mateo Gil singled home Michael Wielansky with an insurance run.
Caneros de Los Mochis 8, Algodoneros de Guasave 2 – Starter Omar Araujo was wild but effective for Los Mochis, allowing two hits over five scoreless innings, striking out five and walking six. Eric Filia went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Los Mochis, and Yasmany Tomas drove in a pair of runs for the Caneros with a single in the third and a sac fly in the fifth.
Yaquis de Obregon 4, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 1 – Christian Villanueva drove in a pair of runs for Obregon with a fourth inning double, and Bobby Bradley and Roberto Valenzuela each had RBI singles as the Yaquis took a 2-1 series lead. Starter Braulio Torres-Perez silenced the Hermosillo bats for six scoreless innings, allowing three hits, walking three and striking out one, and three relievers combined to hold the shutout.

Cardenales de Lara 7, Navegantes de Magallanes 3 – Rangel Ravelo went 3-for-4 with a three run homer and an RBI single as the Cardenales won their sixth straight game in the LVBP’s round robin. All nine players in Lara’s starting lineup notched at least one hit, with Ravelo and three others recording multi-hit games. The Navegantes fell to 1-5 with the loss.
Bravos de Margarita 12, Aguilas del Zulia 3 – Former Major Leaguer Alexi Amarista went 4-for-5 with four singles, three runs scored and an RBI as the Bravos got back to .500 in the round robin. Breyvic Valera scored three runs for Margarita, Wilson Ramos scored two, and Juan Santana drove in two runs, one with a sac fly and one by getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Andres Chapparo drove in Zulia’s first run of the game with a solo homer in the fourth, but the Aguilas fell to 3-2 in the round robin.

Tigres del Licey 4, Estrellas Orientales 3 (10 Innings) – Miguel Andujar’s two-run double in the top of the 10th gave the Tigres a 4-2 lead, and though the Estrellas’ Magneuris Sierra doubled home ghost runner Rodolfo Castro to lead off the bottom of the inning, J.C. Mejia retired the next three batters in order to seal the win. Both clubs are now 2-1 in the 18-game round robin.
Aguilas Cibaenas 7, Leones del Escogido 6 – Trailing 7-0, the Leones chipped away at the Leones lead bit by bit, eventually getting the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the bottom of the ninth before succumbing when Erik Gonzalez flew out to right to end the game. Luis Perdomo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Harold Ramirez hit a two-run homer for the Aguilas. Both teams are 1-2 in the second phase of the season.
