The opening month of the Major League Baseball season has some good international matchups. Here are some of them that fans should be sure to watch.
2025 MLB Tokyo Series
The 2025 MLB season will begin in Japan at the famous Tokyo Dome from Mar. 18-19. The reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers will face off against the Chicago Cubs.
Players on both teams are natives of Japan. The Dodgers have Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, while the Cubs have Shota Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki.
The Dodgers traveled out of the country last season to begin 2024. They faced off against the San Diego Padres in Seoul and split a two-game series with them inside the Gocheok Sky Dome.
The MLB also opened the season in Tokyo in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2019.

MLB in Monterrey
The Boston Red Sox are heading to Mexico for exhibition matches on March 24-25. They will face the Sultanes de Monterrey, who are from Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (LMB).
The two-game series will be played at the home ballpark of Sultanes, Estadio Mobil Super.
Last season, the Red Sox travelled out of the country for exhibition games. They played the Tampa Bay Rays at Estadio Quisqueya in the Dominican Republic.
The MLB has played in Mexico before, both for exhibition and regular-season games. The Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies played in Mexico City last season.
The Rockies also visited Monterrey in a matchup against the Padres in 1999.
