Four teams, two each from Germany and the Czech Republic, will participate in the first WBSC Europe Baseball Champions Cup, playing games on Wednesday nights in 2024, with the top team hosting the second-place team in a championship game in September.
Participating in the Baseball Champions Cup are Draci Brno and Eagles Praha from the Czech Republic and the Guggenberger Legionäre and VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe from Germany.
The league is being launched by WBSC Europe in conjunction with the four participating teams, as well as the Czech Baseball Association and the German Baseball and Softball Federation.
WBSC Europe also announced the lower divisions of the club competitions for 2024. The Baseball European Cup will feature eight teams vying for a spot in the Champions Cup, and will be hosted in Valencia, Spain.
The lower tier of European baseball club competitions is the Baseball Federation Cup. In 2024, two groups will compete, one in Switzerland and the other in Croatia. Twelve more teams will participate in the Baseball Federation Cup Qualifiers, divided into two groups, with one group playing in Sweden and the other in Slovenia.
