The Premier12 action starts tomorrow, and most teams have finalized their rosters before opening night on November 9. The staff here at World Baseball Network has decided to rank each nation’s jersey that will be participating. Here are the jerseys, in order of my rankings from 12 to one:
Chinese Taipei will be wearing an updated uniform featuring the words “Chinese Taipei” across the torso, changing from the jerseys with their “CT” logo featured on their jersey in 2019. The Premier12 logo will also be displayed on the shoulder patch of Chinese Taipei’s jerseys.
Panama has also made adjustments to its uniform, which will be very different from what it wore during the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The second “A” in Panama on the jersey is featured as a star. The team will also wear the same star logo on its hats, including the “P” for Panama.
South Korea will be wearing their usual jerseys that have been seen in prior World Baseball Classics. The navy blue jersey will be a heavy favorite, as they wore these uniforms during their exhibition matchups against Cuba. Their home jersey will be the same uniform they wore during the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
The defending champions of the Premier12 and the World Baseball Classic, Samurai Japan, will wear their classic home and away jerseys, which have been worn for several years. Their navy blue away uniform has a slight alteration: More red is displayed on the jersey, giving it a similar style to Puerto Rico’s home jersey.
Cuba has also changed their jerseys for the upcoming Premier12, including an upgrade on the shoulder area of the uniform. It almost creates a purple aesthetic to their jersey, combining red that fades into blue. They will also have new piping on their jerseys, including a star underneath the “U” in Cuba.
The United States has used similar jerseys since the debut in the World Baseball Classic in 2006. The classic USA logo will be across the torso of the jersey, as the “S” is designed with white and red stripes. One slight change is the numbers on the front of the jersey, outlined in navy blue, with the number in bright red.
Next, the Dominican Republic will display new uniforms for the Premier12. They are similar to their uniforms from the 2023 World Baseball Classic, but the red is much brighter. The jersey also features more blue, as the design is similar to Cuba’s jersey, which blends a mix of red that fades into the blue.
Yes, the sweet jerseys from the 2023 World Baseball Classic will return to the Premier12 for 2024. The team now rocks a home pinstripe jersey, completely removing the orange from their home jersey, except their hat still includes orange. The away uniforms are navy blue, with “Kingdom of the” written in small white text above the giant “Netherlands” logo across the torso in bright orange.
Australia’s uniforms are simple, but they’re absolutely stunning each time they take the diamond in national competitions. The white jerseys are also nice to see, but fans will love it when Australia debuts its green jersey for the first time during the Premier12. The uniforms, sponsored by New Balance, will certainly be a thrill to watch in action.
Puerto Rico’s uniforms for the Premier12 will look similar to those worn during the World Baseball Classic a year ago. The same style will be presented towards the bottom of their jerseys. Puerto Rico’s flag is displayed across the shoulders of the uniform, and it fades into blue on the jersey sleeves. The hats will be the classic “PR” hats.
A close runner-up to the no. 1 jersey that I ranked, Venezuela has debuted new uniforms that they wore during their exhibition matchup against Mexico. Their jerseys are in blue, with red displayed near the inside of the sleeves, including piping that is colored in yellow, blue, and red. They will also be going with blue hats with a white “V” on them, outlined in yellow.
My personal favorite jersey that will be worn throughout the Premier12 is Mexico. They unveiled three new uniforms that will be used throughout the tournament. One of them will be a red jersey, with Mexico written across the torso, with their flag presented on each uniform. The grey and pink uniform certainly is on top of my list, with an “M” featured on the top left on the front of the jersey, with pink sleeve piping. They’ll also be wearing a pink uniform, with Mexico written across the chest in a different font from their usual design. Many fans will be very excited to see each uniform debuted throughout the Premier12.
