Cardenales de Lara 4, Aguilas del Zulia 2 – Lara got solo homers from Harold Castro, Jermaine Palacios, and Eduardo Garcia to slide past Zulia and improve to 2-0 in the LVBP’s round robin despite the bullpen allowing five hits and a walk in the final three innings. Starter Adrian Almeida threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out six for the Cardenales.
Bravos de Margarita 12, Navegantes de Magallanes 5 – Margarita put up 12 runs in the fifth, and it was more than enough, as the Bravos improved to 2-0 in the round robin. Juan Santana led off the big inning with a solo homer, and Margarita reeled off five runs before the Navegantes could record an out. Breyvic Valera capped the inning with a three-run double after hitting a two-run single earlier in the inning.. Eliezer Alfonzo went 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs for Magallanes.
