Criollos de Caguas 10, Indios de Mayaguez 1 – Kennys Vargas and Nelson Velasquez each hit a two-run homer for the Criollos, who scored eight runs in the first three innings to breeze by Mayaguez and a take a 1-0 series lead. Alex Sanabia threw six scoreless innings for Caguas, allowing three hits and striking out three. Ronnie Williams of Mayaguez allowed four runs in the third without recording an out.
Senadores de San Juan 4, Cangrejeros de Santurce 0 – Singles from Kevin Santa and Cornelius Randolph drove in San Juan’s first two runs in the fourth, and a double by Ramon Rodriguez drove in two more, as the Senadores did all their scoring in half an inning. Five pitchers combined to allow five hits and six walks to the Cangrejeros, who went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Senadores lead the seven-game series 1-0.

Navegantes de Magallanes (3-5) 11, Cardenales de Lara (6-2) 7 – Alberth Martinez and Tucupita Marcano each hit solo homers in the fifth for Magallanes, and Gabriel Arias hit a two-run shot in the seventh as the Navegantes improved to 3-5. Marcano went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, hitting an RBI double in the third, an inning where the Navegantes put up five runs. Martinez was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run single in the third. The Cardenales lead the 16-game round robin by a game over Zulia and Margarita.
Aguilas del Zulia (5-3) 8, Tigres de Aragua (1-7) 5 – Jose Herrera’s two-run homer in the sixth tied the game for Zulia, and the Aguilas added another in the seventh on Jose Pirela’s RBI single and two more in the eighth to improve to 5-3. Aragua’s five runs were the most they’ve scored since December 30, but still not enough to get a win.

Estrellas Orientales (4-2) 4, Aguilas Cibaenas (1-5) 0 – Jose Barrero hit a solo homer, Rodolfo Castro and Kelvin Gutierrez each had RBI doubles, and Robinson Cano had an RBI single as the Estrellas scorched the Aguilas to improve to 4-2. Seven EO pitchers combined to allow six hits and five walks in the shutout.
Leones del Escogido (3-3) 8, Tigres del Licey (4-2) 1 – Licey got on the board with a solo homer by Sergio Alcantara in the first, but that was all the offense they would get. The Leones scored eight unanswered runs, getting four in the third and three in the fourth, to get back to .500 in the 18-game round robin. Junior Caminero went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs for Escogido. Licey and the Estrellas Orientales are tied for the lead in the round robin.
