2024-25 Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional in Nicaragua Round Robin Preview

The 2024-25 Liga de Beisbol Profesional Nacional in Nicaragua’s Round Robin will start on December 23, 2024, and run until January 5, 2025.

The 2024-25 LBPN regular season had five teams participating during the year, with the Indios del Boer, the Tigres de Chinandega, the Gigantes de Rivas, the Leones de Leon, and the Tren del Norte.

The 2024-25 LBPN season was just five teams layers that are playing in the minor leagues with Major League Baseball organizations, international professional leagues, independent leagues in the United States and Canada, current professional, free agents, Nicaragua U23 national team players, and players that have played in the 2024 spring-summer season in the Campeonato German Pomares Ordonez league.

Luis Sumoza manages the Indios del Boer, Luis Rodriguez manages the Tren del Norte, Sandor Guido manages the Leones de Leon, and Lenin Picota manages the Tigres de Chinandega.

The Tren del Norte played their home games at Estadio Rufo Marin in Esteli, Nicaragua; the Gigantes de Rivas played their home games at Estadio Yamil Rios in Rivas, Nicaragua; the Leones de Leon played their home games at  Estadio Rigoberto López in Leon, Nicaragua, the Indios del Boer played at Estadio Roberto Clemente in Masaya, Nicaragua, and the Tigres de Chinandega played  Estadio Efrain Tijerino in Chinandega, Nicaragua for the 2024-25 LPBN regular season.

The Gigantes de Rivas, under manager Joel Fuentes, did not qualify for the Round Robin due to finishing in last place with their record to end the year at 11-21 after they won the best-of-seven 2023-24 LBPN championship series in six games over the Tren del Norte under former manager German Mesa.

Leones de Leon won the 2024-25 LBPN regular season title with their record at 19-12. Indios del Boer came in second at 17-14, Tren del Norte was 17-15, and the Tigres de Chinandega snuck into the Round Robin as the fourth seed at 15-17.

The 2025 LBPN best-of-seven championship series will start on January 7, 2025, and end on January 15, 2025, if there is a Game Seven.

The top two teams with the best record in the 2024-25 LBPN Round Robin will appear in the league best-of-seven championship series

Nicaragua played in the 2024 Caribbean Series at loanDepot Park after their 2023-24 regular season but did not send the winner of their 2023-24 LPBN to the event and went winless in Miami.

The winner of the 2024-25 LBPN regular season will play in the Asociacion De Beisbol De Las Américas committee will hold the 2025 Serie de Las Americas event this January against the winners of the professional leagues with the 2024-25 Liga de Beisbol Profesional Colombia season, the 2024 Liga Argentina de Béisbol winner Club Daom, the 2025 Curacao Professional Baseball league winner, the 2024-25 ProBeis league in Panama, and the 2024 Serie Nacional regular season winner in Cuba, the the Lenadores de Las Tunas.

The SDLA Tournament will be from January 24-31, 2025, and will be played in three venues in Nicaragua.

The SDLA semifinals will be held on January 30, and the championship game will be held on January 31. The schedule is listed below.

The SDLA event will be held at the Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, the Estadio Roberto Clemente in Masaya, and the Estadio Rigoberto Perez in Leon, Nicaragua.
