On Thursday, the Alabama Crimson Tide landed a big recruit when shortstop and third baseman Bubba Coleman announced his commitment to play for Alabama.

According to Bleacher Talk, the top 100 prospect from Braselton, Ga., was originally committed to LSU before reopening his recruiting as an uncommitted player.

Coleman plays for Cherokee Bluff High School in Flowery Branch, Ga. According to his profile on Perfect Game, scouts have labelled him as a talented hitter with an athletic six-foot-tall, 190-pound frame. The website also alludes to his throwing arm being the best tool he has on defense, which is the reason why he plays shortstop primarily, along with third base.

On his X account, Coleman left a message about his announcement to commit to Alabama.

“I want to thank Coach Vaughn, Coach Morrison, Coach Papio, and Coach Jackson for giving me this opportunity… With that being said, it’s an honor to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama. Roll Tide!!!” Coleman wrote.

Coleman is a member of the 2026 class, and he is a part of the Crimson Tide’s freshman class that would head to Tuscaloosa for the 2027 season.

Alabama’s 2026 high school class is ranked 15th in the country according to Perfect Game. He joins Shawn Sullivan, a pitching prospect from Ohio, as the two top 100 recruits in Alabama’s 2026 class.

In the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Crimson Tide have the 11th overall class in the country. Head coach Rob Vaughn’s addition of Coleman to the 2026 class shows that recruiting in Tuscaloosa is getting better and better.
