Day one of the Baseball United Arab Classic has come to an end. Six games were played as both groups kicked off action.

Afghanistan vs. India

The first game of the day set the tone for a day of blowouts as India defeated Afghanistan 11-1. India was great on both sides, with dominant pitching and timely offense.

Bangladesh vs. Pakistan

Pakistan delivered the first shutout of the tournament, defeating Bangladesh 11-0. They were helped by the first homer in the tournament’s history. Muhammad Hussain will forever be in the history books with that homer.

India vs. UAE

India faced the UAE in their second game of the day. Looking to build on their 11-1 win, India was pounced on by the UAE. In their first-ever baseball tournament, the UAE took care of India 7-1. Backed by pitcher Jose Acosta, who kept India’s powered offense at bay, the UAE set the tone.

Sri Lanka vs. Saudi Arabia
Sri Lanka wasted no time in getting their first win of the tournament. They scored nine runs in the first inning against Saudi Arabia. Backed by a relentless offense and strong pitching, Sri Lanka went on to win 15-6!

Nepal vs. Palestine

Palestine would start the game and their tournament with fireworks, scoring 17 runs and dominating Nepal with a final score of 17-2. It was a bad day for Nepal pitcher Arayan Chettri, who would only last two innings while allowing ten runs.

UAE vs. Pakistan

In their second game of the day, Pakistan would waste no time in showing who the favorite should be as they took down UAE by a score of 10-3. Backed again by game one star Muhammad Hussain, Pakistan would continue to hit and take on runs
