Dalton Bargo Giving an Extra Lift to Tennessee’s Explosive Offense

The past four games have been kind for the Tennessee Volunteers’ utility man Dalton Bargo.

In last week’s series against Alabama and Tuesday night’s matchup against Queens University of Charlotte, he has six hits, five RBI, and six runs.

The long ball has been working for him as well. He hit a home run in Saturday’s series finale against the Crimson Tide and in the midweek game against Queens.

This has been one of the best stretches of hitting Bargo has shown since he transferred to Tennessee from Missouri prior to the 2024 season.

After Friday’s night win over Alabama, he spoke to the media about his hitting approach over the course of last weekend.

“I just stay locked in every pitch from the first one to the last one… I just kind of go out there and play my game,” Bargo said.

This stretch of games for Bargo has been his longest hitting streak in the 2025 college baseball season.

It came at the right time for Tennessee. The lineup has been without one of its best hitters in Gavin Kilen for the past four games due to an injury, so Bargo, the junior utility player, has plugged that hole nicely.

This season, Bargo is batting .286 with seven total home runs. He had eight home runs throughout the entire 2024 season.

If his offense continues to thrive, it is just another added piece of depth to this Volunteer team that is a potent offense.

Up Next – Tennessee is now 23-2 overall this season after the midweek win on Tuesday against Queens.

Next, they will hit the road for a three-game, weekend series against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The first pitch for the game at Founders Park on Friday, Mar. 28, is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
