On Wednesday, it was announced that Florida Gators outfielder Kyle Jones will miss the rest of the 2025 season. Some other injury news came out of Gainesville along with that.
Jones was batting .313 in 16 at-bats this season. Prior to playing in Gainesville, he played for the Stetson Hatters and was the A-SUN conference Freshman of the Year, while also being named third team All-Conference.
The last game Jones played in was last Friday against the Miami Hurricanes. He went 0 for 3 at the plate.
The sophomore from Athens, Ga. was a good filler for Florida’s outfield depth to play behind players like Hayden Yost, Blake Cyr, etc.
This is not the only injury the Gators team is facing. Starting pitcher Pierce Coppola will miss this weekend’s action with an injury.
The freshman right-hander from Jacksonville, Aidan King, will start this weekend because Coppola will miss out on the action.
Florida infielder Cade Kurland is also experiencing injury trouble. There has been no further news or timetable for him.
All of this injury news came from the Gators’ head coach, Kevin O’Sullivan.
