Hanwha Eagles Re-Sign Ryan Weiss

On Friday, the Hanwha Eagles announced they had re-signed right-handed starting pitcher Ryan Weiss to a one-year contract. The deal will earn the 28-year-old Weiss $750k in 2025 with incentives worth up to $950k.

A 2018 fourth-round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks, Weiss complied a 4.88 ERA in five years in the Diamondbacks and Royals minor-league systems. After two seasons in independent ball, Weiss signed with the Eagles in the middle of 2024 and posted a 3.73 ERA in 16 games.

A full season of Weiss will be a major help to the Eagles as they look for their postseason series win since 2007. The club took a step forward in 2024, topping the 60-win plateau for the first time in six seasons. Weiss will reunite with KBO legend Ryu Hyun-jin to form what should be one of the strongest one-two punches in the league.
