The New York Yankees are finally back in the World Series. They defeat the Guardians in five games to get back to the Fall Classic and right in the middle of the action was Dominican superstar outfielder Juan Soto.
The Cleveland Guardians were knotted at 2 with the Yankees after the ninth inning. With a trip to the World Series on the line, Soto came through in the top of the tenth inning with a moment Yankees fans will never forget. After Austin Wells walked and Alex Verdugo reached on a fielder’s choice, Soto hit a 402-foot, three-run home run with two outs to put the Yankees up 5-2.
Despite playing on the road, the cheers of Yankees fans were hard to miss during the broadcast. His three-run home run scored the only runs for the Yankees in extras and those runs proved to be more than enough. Fittingly, Soto caught the final out off the bat of Lane Thomas after Yankee closer Luke Weaver came in for the bottom of the tenth and the celebration began.
While the Yankees stood on a stage receiving the William Harridge Trophy, fans were chanting, “Re-sign Soto.” The trade for Juan Soto has proved to be more than successful for the Yankees. Now they are in a position to make him a Yankee for life potentially.

Yankees players are not blind to the fact that Soto is in line for a big payday. Jazz Chisholm Jr. made sure to acknowledge Soto’s upcoming free agency while champagne flew in the clubhouse.
“Pay my guy. Pay Juan Soto,” Chisholm screamed into the YES mic when talking to Meredith Marakovits. “700 million.”
"PAY JUAN SOTO!" 😁💸

Soto is in line to sign one of the biggest deals in MLB history. He has made it difficult for the Yankees to part ways with him, but they will have to pay a pretty penny if they want to keep him around. Luckily for Hal Steinbrenner’s organization, Soto has been open about his joy being a Yankee.
The Yankees will await the result of the National League Championship Series. Whether it’s the Los Angeles Dodgers or New York Mets as their opponent remains to be seen. However, one thing is for sure; There will be a World Series game played in the Bronx this year.
