Tomateros de Culiacan 3, Venados de Mazatlan 2 – The Tomateros (13-2) got home runs from Joey Meneses and Esteban Quiroz, and Jesus Fabela scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth. Starter Edgar Arredondo allowed two hits, the only two Mazatlan would get all night, walked four, and struck out four in five innings of work.
Caneros de Los Mochis 7, Sultanes de Monterrey 1 – Bobby Bradley’s RBI double in the first was all the offense the Sultanes could muster, as they lost their eighth straight game and fell to 4-11. Roel Santos went 4-for-5 for Los Mochis, driving in two runs and scoring one, as the Caneros improved to 10-5.
Naranjeros de Hermosillo 3, Yaquis de Obregon 0 – Reivaj Garcia’s two-run double in the bottom of the fourth gave the Naranjeros a lead, and a sixth inning sac fly gave Hermosillo (10-5) insurance. Robert Stock threw five scoreless innings for Hermosillo, allowing two hits, walking one, and striking out five, and the Naranjeros’ bullpen gave up one walk over three innings to complete the two-hit shutout.
Aguilas de Mexicali 6, Mayos de Navojoa 4 – Wynton Bernard drove in the go-ahead run for Mexicali (9-6) with a two-run double in the sixth as the Aguilas improved to 9-6. Alejandro Mejia went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for Mexicali and hit a solo homer in the eighth. The Mayos got solo homers from Julian Escobedo and Luis Alfonso Cruz.
Charros de Jalisco 10, Algodoneros de Guasave 4 – Down 4-2 after four innings, the Charros battled back with a six-run sixth inning. Japhet Amador and Alfredo Hurtado hit solo homers and Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a grand slam in the frame, which put Jalisco (5-10) up for good. Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and was a double short of hitting for the cycle.
