The board of the Liga Beisbol Profesional de la Republica Dominicana approved changes to the leagues 2023-24 schedule to accommodate the Titanes del Caribe series, as well as pitch clock rules and the use of electronic communications devices for the upcoming season.

The Titanes del Caribe three-game exhibition series will be held from November 10-12 at Citi Field in New York, featuring the Tigres del Licey and the Aguilas Cibaenas. The league’s regular season will carry on while the Tigres and Aguilas are in New York, with the Leones del Escogido, Estrellas Orientales, Gigantes del Cibao and Toros del Este continuing to play regular season games. November 13 will be a league-wide day off.

ESPN.com.do reported that the LIDOM will enforce a limit of three minutes between changes of innings and pitchers; 30 seconds between batters; and 20 seconds for the pitcher to deliver each pitch to the plate, regardless of whether or not there are runners on base.

Batters will have eight seconds to be ready in the batter’s box, and a violation will result in an automatic strike. When a pitcher does not deliver a pitch within 20 seconds, an automatic ball will be added to the count.

The league also voted to allow the use of the PitchCom device for pitchers and catchers to communicate signs.
