Jose Gaitan went 3-for-4 with an RBI single in the second and Wilfredo Tovar had two hits and scored twice for Yucatan.

Dos Laredos Loans Daniel Mengden, Harold Ramirez to Sultanes de Monterrey – Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over,” but there can be some pretty good signs that a team has decided that the season is over before it’s reached the end of the schedule.
It looks as though the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos, who enter their midweek series against the Acereros de Monclova at 26-40 and in ninth place in the Zona Sur, have decided that the 2026 season is all but over.
According to a report from Beisbol Puro, the Tecos have loaned top hitter Harold Ramirez and pitcher Daniel Mengden to the Sultanes, who are 35-30 and in second place in the Zona Norte, 10 games back of first-place Tijuana.

Mengden has made 14 starts for the Tecos this year, posting a 2.31 ERA in 74 innings with 65 strikeouts, 15 walks, and a 1.081 WHIP. He made 65 Major League appearances over parts of six seasons with Oakland and Kansas City from 2016-22, where he had a 4.65 ERA in 309 2/3 innings, and has since pitched for the CTBC Brothers of the Chinese Professional Baseball League, the Kia Tigers of the KBO League, the Gigantes del Cibao of LIDOM, and Dos Laredos.
Ramirez, 31, appeared in 536 career MLB games with Tampa Bay and Washington, batting .285/.302/.406 with 38 homers and 247 RBIs. He played for his native Colombia in the 2025 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and the 2026 World Baseball Classic, and with Dos Laredos this year, he’s hitting .350/.381/.460 with four homers and 40 RBIs.
