LIDOM’s Tigres del Licey and Aguilas Cibaenas will play two games this Saturday and Sunday as a part of this year’s Titanes del Caribe exhibition series. The two clubs will meet at Estadio Hiram Bithorn in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Saturday’s game will begin at 5 p.m. EST, and Sunday’s game is scheduled for noon EST.
The two-game series will be the second and third Titanes del Caribe matchups of the LIDOM season between the Tigres del Licey and Aguilas Cibaenas. The Aguilas won the first Titanes del Caribe game at Citi Field in Queens, New York, 3-2 on November 10. Pinch hitter Bladimir Restituyo hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth for the Aguilas. The Titanes del Caribe games do not count towards each team’s 2024-25 regular season record in LIDOM.
The Titanes del Caribe event was supposed to feature two games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, on November 8 and 9, but the games were called off. Tickets sold for the two games at Yankee Stadium were refunded. The Tigres del Licey and Aguilas Cibaenas played three Titanes del Caribe games at Citi Field last November, with the Aguilas winning all three contests. Grandes en los Deportes reported on X in June 2024 that both organizations received $1.32 million each for participating in the event.
The 2023 Titanes del Caribe series drew 90,900 fans to Citi Field, and the rubber game of the series, which the Aguilas Cibaenas swept, drew 32,536 to the ballpark on a chilly Sunday afternoon in November. The Tigres del Licey (19-15) and Aguilas Cibaenas (18-17) will look to keep the party going this weekend in Puerto Rico.
All 2024-25 LIDOM regular season games will be televised live on MLB.TV with a paid subscription until January’s final match of the league’s best-of-seven championship series.
