Guerreros de Oaxaca (18-10) 5, Tigres de Quintana Roo (11-17) 2 (11 Innings) – Alemao Hernandez allowed one run on four hits over 5 1/3 innings for Oaxaca, and the bullpen kept the Guerreros in the game despite allowing four hits and eight walks over 5 2/3 innings of relief work until the Guerreros scored four in the top of the 11th. Ernesto Borges was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force the first run across in the 11th, and Yonathan Daza followed him with a two-run double.
Olmecas de Tabasco (15-13) 7, Pericos de Puebla (17-11) 5 – Seth Beer went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs as the Olmecas improved to two games over .500. Yunior Severino had and RBI single and an RBI double for Tabasco, and Jose Godoy drove in one run with a single and another with a ground ball to first that Puebla’s David Rodriguez couldn’t handle.
El Aguila de Veracruz (14-14) 11, Piratas de Campeche (11-17) 4 – Roberto Valenzuela went 3-for-5 with a homer and drove in two runs, and Daniel Montano had two hits and drove in three runs as El Aguila easily took the first game of the series from Campeche. Connor Hollis had a pair of doubles for Campeche.
Conspiradores de Queretaro (13-15) 6, Leones de Yucatan (9-19) 5 (10 Innings) – Yucatan may have a new manager in Hensley Meulens, but the result of his first game wasn’t much different than it was with the first two skippers. Queretaro tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on Henry Urrutia’s RBI single, then scored the winner in the 10th when Rangel Ravelo scored on a wild pitch. Urrutia also had his fifth homer of the season, a two-run shot in the fifth, for the Conspiradores. Dalton Guthrie hit a solo homer for Yucatan.
Diablos Rojos del Mexico (17-12) 15, Bravos de Leon (16-13) 9 – The Diablos scored 15 runs for the second game in a row behind a 3-for-3 night at the plate for Robinson Cano, who scored twice, homered, and drove in three runs as the Diablos moved ahead of Leon in the Zona Sur. Moises Gutierrez and Juan Carlos Gamboa also homered for the Diablos, while Leon got dingers from Sandber Pimentel, Jimmy Kerrigan, and Alan Garcia.
Rieleros de Aguascalientes (14-14) 8, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (15-13) 3 – Matthew Batten went 2-for-4, scored a run, and drove in six, hitting a three-run homer in the second and a three-run double in the third as Aguascalientes improved to .500 on the year. Starter Ben Holmes allowed one run on two hits and three walks, striking out four in five innings of work.
Algodoneros de Union Laguna (12-16) 15, Acereros de Monclova (13-14) 10 – Yusniel Diaz and Dean Nevarez each drove in four runs, with each hitting a three-run homer for the Algodoneros in the win. Mason Martin hit his ninth homer of the year, a solo shot, for Union Laguna in the second. Ramon Hernandez, Rodolfo Amador, and Aldo Nunez each homered for Monclova.
Saraperos de Saltillo (9-18) 5, Sultanes de Monterrey (18-10) 2 – Thairo Estrada went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and drove in three runs as Saltillo took down the second-place Sultanes. Chris Carter’s ninth homer of the year, a solo shot in the second, and a solo homer by Oscar Campos rounded out the scoring for the Saraperos.
Toros de Tijuana (20-7) 6, Charros de Jalisco (15-13) 2 – The Toros got three in the eighth and two more in the ninth to earn their 20th win of the season, with Jack Mayfield driving in the winning run with a two-run double in the eighth and Hernan Perez hitting a solo homer in the ninth. Wilmer Flores added a solo shot for Tijuana.
Dorados de Chihuahua (9-19) 4, Caliente de Durango (14-14) 1 – Starter Caleb Smith allowed one run on two hits and three walks over six innings for Durango, striking out four, and four different Dorados each contributed and RBI in the win. Former MLB reliever Braden Webb earned his first save of the year, throwing the ninth inning allowing one hit.
