World Baseball Network is tracking the 2024-25 Caribbean winter league season as we approach the new year. With the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional Round Robin format and the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana making up regular season games and then playing its own round robin, we’ll be covering all the action.
The Gigantes del Cibao are fighting for the final playoff spot and are currently in fifth place with their record at 21-25. The Leones del Escogido holds the fourth spot with their record at 22-25.
The Toros del Este are eliminated from Round Robin contention with their record at 17-30 and in last place for the 2024-25 LIDOM regular season.
The top three teams in the 2024-25 LIDOM season are in first place, the Estrellas Orientales with their record at 29-20, the Aguilas Cibaenas in second place at 28-22, and the Tigres del Licey in third place with their record at 25-20.
The 2024-25 LVBP regular season had five teams make the round robin for their league with the Cardenales de Lara taking first place with their record at 33-23, the Bravos de Margarita earned second place with their record at 31-25, the Águilas del Zulia ended the year in third place at 30-26, the Navegantes del Magallanes ended in fourth place with their record at 29-27, and the Tigres de Aragua snuck in with ending the year in fifth place at 27-29.
The teams that were eliminated from qualifying for the 2024-25 LVBP Round Robin are the Leones del Caracas, finishing in sixth place at 26-30; the 2024 Caribbean Series defending champion, Tiburones de La Guaira, in seventh place at 26-30, and the Caribes de Anzoátegui in last place at 22-34.
The drafted player list for the team’s reinforcements was announced on December 24 for the 2024-25 LVBP Round Robin.
The game start times for the 2024-25 LVBP Round Robin are listed below at Atlantic Standard Time and will start an hour back listed on Eastern Standard Time.
The 2024-25 LVBP Round Robin will begin December 27, 2024, and go until January 17, 2025, before the league’s best-of-seven championship series.
The 2024-25 LVBP season will be streamed with a paid subscription on Beisbolplay.com until the final out of their best-of-seven championship series.
The 2024-25 season winners in LVBP and LIDOM will participate in the 2025 Caribbean Series from January 31 until February 7 at the Estadio Nido de los Águilas in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
