The California State Fullerton Titans are starting to trend up as college baseball has entered its final month of the regular season. The team has three straight series wins in Big West play and now has a conference record of 16-7.
From April 17-19, the Titans defeated Long Beach State in a series at Goodwin Field taking two out of three of the games.
After that, they swept UC Davis on the road thanks to some stifling pitching. The Titans held the Aggies to just six runs all weekend. They won the middle game of the series in a 2-0 shut out.
This weekend, Cal State Fullerton had a big matchup against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. After a close 3-2 win for the Titans on Friday night, they went on to win the series with a 10-6 win on Saturday.
In Saturday’s game, Cal State Fullerton had 12 hits, and a six-run second inning was enough to help them earn a series win over one of the top teams in the Big West conference.
As of Sunday, the Titans climbed into third place in the Big West behind Cal Poly and UC Irvine. This is a team that is playing good baseball at the right time with the Big West tournament a mere 17 days away.
There is also good news for the Titans regarding the conference tournament, it will be played at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, Calif.
