 Alfred Ezman - World Baseball Network  |    Mar 9th, 2025 9:00pm EDT

The Southeastern Louisiana Lions got a series win on the road against the Memphis Tigers this weekend. They now have a 12-3 overall record and are second in the Southland Conference, sitting behind only UT Rio Grande Valley.

This series win over Memphis also makes it four-straight weekend series wins to begin the year for the Lions.

Southeastern Louisiana has also gotten a jump in conference play. Prior to this weekend’s series against Memphis, the Lions swept Northwestern State last weekend to begin Southland play 3-0.

They are one of two undefeated teams in conference play in the Southland along with UT Rio Grande Valley.

The Lions are now entering the thick of conference play next weekend. Before that, they will play the Xavier Musketeers at home in Alumni Park in Hammond, La. This midweek matchup will take place on Tuesday, Mar. 11.

The series next weekend will be a road trip for Southeastern Louisiana to Nacogdoches, Texas. They will play their second Southland series against Stephen F. Austin.

The Lions will continue to be a mid-major team to watch as they have just one loss in weekend series so far this season.

Their midweek matchup against Xavier on Tuesday will start at 7 p.m. EST.
