But for one inning, the Olmecas de Tabasco made a game of Game 2 of the Serie del Rey.

But for the bottom of the fifth inning, where the Toros de Tijuana scored 10 runs, all of them scored before the Olmecas could record an out, nine of them coming via home runs. That one inning turned a tied game into a blowout, and the Olmecas never recovered, falling 13-2 as the Toros evened the series at a game apiece.

Hernan Perez got the Toros on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the third, and a sac fly in the top of the fifth by Tabasco's Calvin Estrada tied the game at 1-1.

Perez then came to the plate in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and no outs, singling to right field to score Jonathan Guzman and give Tijuana a 2-1 lead.

The single by Perez ended the night for Tabasco starter Jeremy Rhoades, but reliever Carlos Vasquez didn't find much success on the hill either. Franchy Cordero hit the second pitch Vasquez threw after entering the game over the wall in right for a grand slam to make it 6-1.

Consecutive singles by Justin Turner and Phillip Evans ended Vasquez's appearance. Junior Lake faced Jack Cushing and worked the count to 3-1 before hitting a three-run homer to left center to make it 9-1.

Tomas Telis followed Lake with a single, and then Jonathan Guzman homered to make it 11-1.

Telis hit a two-run homer an inning later that made it 13-1.

Tijuana starter Adonis Medina allowed one run on three hits and struck out three in five innings of work, and four Toros relievers combined to allow one run on two hits and a walk over the final four innings.

Franchy Cordero's four RBIs led the Toros, while Lake had three and Perez, Telis, and Guzman each drove in a pair of runs.

Game 3 is Friday night in Villahermosa, Tabasco, with Ronnie Williams starting for the Olmecas against David Reyes for Tijuana in a matchup of two of the league's elite starting pitchers.
