Game 4 of the World Series starts at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday at Tropicana Field. Milwaukee leads 3-0 and can win the first championship in franchise history tonight.
How to watch
FOX has the national broadcast, with FOX Deportes in Spanish. It streams on FOX One, and on MLB.TV if you sign in through a participating pay-TV provider. ESPN Radio and TUDN have national radio; locally it’s WTMJ 620 in Milwaukee and WDAE 95.7 FM in Tampa Bay. In Canada, Sportsnet carries it in English, TVA Sports in French.
Evan Longoria throws out the first pitch. Joe Maddon and James Shields did it before Game 3.
Lineups
Brewers: Jackson Chourio LF, Jake Bauers 1B, Christian Yelich DH, William Contreras C, Brice Turang 2B, Sal Frelick RF, Cooper Pratt SS, Garrett Mitchell CF, David Hamilton 3B. May RHP.
Rays: Yandy Díaz DH, Jonathan Aranda 1B, Junior Caminero 3B, Liam Hicks C, Jonny DeLuca CF, Chandler Simpson LF, Ryan Vilade RF, Richie Palacios 2B, Taylor Walls SS. Jax RHP.
Milwaukee ran the same nine out for three straight games and finally changed one: Sal Frelick up to sixth, Garrett Mitchell down to eighth. Tampa Bay goes back to a conventional lineup after the right-handed-heavy version it used against Robert Gasser.
Griffin Jax, and the World Baseball Classic
This is Jax’s third appearance of the postseason. He finished the regular season with one run allowed over 18 innings in his last four starts, all Rays wins, and has a 1.88 ERA over his last six outings.
He also pitched for the United States at the World Baseball Classic in March: a 1-2-3 inning against Great Britain, an inning-ending double play against Mexico with the tying run at the plate in the eighth, and a hitless sixth against the Dominican Republic in the semifinal.
Junior Caminero, batting third for Tampa Bay tonight, was on that Dominican team.
Dustin May has survived more than most
Milwaukee named May its starter a few hours before first pitch, after Brandon Woodruff pitched the ninth of Game 3 — his first appearance since July 4.

That’s May at the Futures Game in 2019, the showcase for prospects who haven’t arrived yet. He was the Dodgers’ No. 3 prospect and No. 51 in baseball, and he threw an inning of three groundouts with a fastball touching 98.
Seven years later he’s the only player on either roster with World Series experience predating this season — two relief appearances for the Dodgers in the 2020 Series, against these same Rays. He threw a scoreless inning in Game 2 on Saturday.
His fastball averages 96.8 mph and he throws six pitches.
What Milwaukee did in Game 3
The Brewers won 10-1 and scored eight runs with two outs in the fifth, a World Series record. Seven consecutive batters got hits, the first time that’s happened in a postseason game.
It turned on a replay challenge. Christian Yelich was called out at second, the Rays started leaving the field, the grounds crew started prepping for a mascot race — then Milwaukee challenged, Yelich was ruled safe, and the inning kept going.
Robert Gasser faced the minimum through six, allowing one hit on 75 pitches.
Jackson Chourio had four hits by the fifth inning. At 22 years and 229 days he became the second-youngest player in World Series history with four hits and a steal in a game. The youngest was Ty Cobb in 1908.
“I was just taking every at-bat like it could be my last,” Chourio said.
He’s 8-for-14 in this Series with three steals. Contreras is hitting .419 this postseason and has thrown out three runners in three games — the first catcher to do that in a World Series since Darren Daulton in 1993.

Milwaukee had lost 11 straight postseason road games before this October. They’ve since swept the Dodgers in Los Angeles and taken the first two at the Trop.
What Tampa Bay is facing
Only one team in baseball history has come back from 3-0 in a best-of-seven: the 2004 Red Sox, and that was an ALCS. No team down 0-3 in a World Series has ever even forced a Game 6.
The Rays have scored one run in their last 17 innings.
“I don’t even think it’s been a matter of necessarily playing bad,” Caminero said through an interpreter. “A lot of credit goes to Milwaukee. They’ve just been playing exceptionally well.”

Tampa Bay did win Game 4 the last time it was here — the 2020 game that ended with Brett Phillips’s single and Randy Arozarena falling down between third and home.
At the end of the fifth inning, players, coaches, umpires and fans will hold up Stand Up To Cancer placards.
