Day 4 of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games featured the seventh-place placement game, where two teams that finished at the bottom of their respective pool-play groups met to determine the tournament’s final standings.
Curaçao (1-3) 1, México (0-4) 0 – On Monday, Curaçao closed out its tournament with a hard-fought victory over Mexico, securing seventh place at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
In the bottom of the first inning, Raysheandall Michel reached on a fielder’s choice, allowing Phildrick Llewellyn to score.
Llewellyn finished the game going 1-for-3 at the plate. His clutch offense provided the entire spark Curaçao needed to edge past the Mexican defense.
Pitcher Jordan Lucas delivered a complete-game performance to secure the victory and completely neutralized Mexico’s bats over 7 innings, locking down the win with only 3 hits allowed, 1 strikeout, and zero runs.
Mexico’s tournament came to an end after the loss to Curaçao, finishing with a 0-4 record and an eighth-place finish.
The defeat eliminated Mexico from the competition, leaving the team in eighth place after a winless tournament.
