The San Francisco Firebells live to fight another day.
Facing elimination with a 2-0 series deficit against the Los Angeles Queens, the Firebells captured a 10-5 victory in Game 3 of the Women's Professional Baseball League Championship Series on Saturday night.
At Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois, San Francisco jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first two innings of the contest against Queens starter Michelle Roche, who allowed 11 hits and struck out none in three frames.
Los Angeles was on the board in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run from catcher Jamie Mackay.
The bottom of the lineup was crucial for the Firebells. Samantha Gutierrez, Jua Park, and Joely Leguizamon all went 2-for-4 at the plate with at least one RBI.
Leguizamon launched her first homer of the season with a solo shot in the second inning, commencing a four-run outburst for the Firebells.

Starter Niki Eckert and reliever Liz Gilder struck out five but walked seven in their seven combined innings on the mound for the Firebells. Eckert allowed two earned runs on five hits in her four innings.
Former Little League World Series star Mo'ne Davis went 0-for-2 at the plate and lost a fly ball in the lights while playing center field for the Queens in the third. Her miscue contributed to San Francisco's scoring flurry.
