Guerreros de Oaxaca (47-43) 12, Diablos Rojos del Mexico (61-29) 3 – Juniel Querecuto hit a grand slam, Andres Sosa hit a two-run homer, and Mel Rojas Jr. hit a solo homer as the Guerreros cooled off the Diablos in the series finale. The Guerreros win combined with Quintana Roo’s loss clinches a playoff berth for the Guerreros and locks in the six teams from the Zona Sur that are headed to the postseason.

Piratas de Campeche (48-39) 12, Conspiradores de Queretaro (34-53) 6 (Game 1/Nine Innings) – Nick Kahle, released by Campeche last month, helped the Piratas win the completion of the July 2 suspended game with a solo homer in the second before the suspension, and the Piratas scored three in the fifth and six in the sixth to get closer to a home playoff berth.

Piratas de Campeche (49-39) 6, Conspiradores de Queretaro (34-54) 4 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – A two-run homer by emmanuel Avila in the bottom of the seventh moved the Piratas to 10 games over .500 and reduced their magin number for the No. 3 seed in the Zona Sur to three. Fernando Flores hit a solo homer in the second and a two-run homer in the sixth for Campeche. Henry Urrutia and Fabricio Macias each homered for Queretaro, which lost for the eighth time in its last 10 games, yet somehow only has the second-worst late season collapse in the Zona Sur this year.

Sultanes de Monterrey (47-43) 15, Dorados de Chihuahua (35-55) 9 – A seven-run bottom of the eighth got the Sultanes past the Dorados and kept them a game ahead of Monclova for the No. 3 seed in the Zona Norte. Omar Narvaez hit a two-run homer in the big inning, Javier Salazar and Harold Ramirez each hit RBI triples, and Gustavo Nunez, Socrates Brito, and Carlos Soto each singled home runs in the eighth for Monterrey.

Caliente de Durango (50-37) 10, Charros de Jalisco (43-44) 5 – Estevan Florial homered twice, scored three times, and drove in three runs as Durango won its 50th game of the year. Daniel Johnson hit a two-run homer for the Caliente, and starter Joan Adon threw five scoreless innings, allowing three hits, two walks, and striking out eight. Johneshwy Fargas hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth as the Charros rallied for four runs in the final frame.

Olmecas de Tabasco (53-36) 3, Bravos de Leon (47-43) 1 – Oscar Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth and Jimmy Cordero recorded his 20th save of the season as Tabasco locked up the No. 3 seed in the Zona Sur with a win. Olmecas starter Jeremy Rhoades threw six scoreless innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and notching five strikeouts to earn the win.

SATURDAY: Diablos Rojos Take Both Games of Doubleheader From Oaxaca; Tigres Lose Eighth Straight

Pericos de Puebla (48-41) 7, Leones de Yucatan (31-57) 0 – Vladimir Gutierrez threw a three-hit complete game shutout for Puebla, walking none and striking out 11, and David Rodriguez and Ciro Norzagaray each homered in the win for the Pericos. Puebla enters the final three-game series of the regular season just 1 1/2 games behind Campeche for the third seed in the Zona Sur.

Rieleros de Aguascalientes (41-46) 7, Algodoneros de Union Laguna (43-47) 3 – Jose Rondon hit a bases-loaded triple as part of a five-run bottom of the first that got Aguascalientes past the Algodoneros in the series finale. The win by the Rieleros leaves them tied with Union Laguna for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Zona Norte with three games to play. Both clubs are two games back of Jalisco and three behind Monclova.

Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (35-55) 6, Saraperos de Saltillo (38-52) 3 – Zoilo Almonte hit a two-run homer for Dos Laredos as they doubled up Saltillo in the final game of the series.

El Aguila de Veracruz (42-48) 3, Tigres de Quintana Roo (43-47) 2 – In nine games, the Tigres have gone from five games over .500 to four games under and from competing for home field advantage to playoff elimination in a stunning late-season collapse. El Aguila got a pair of runs in the seventh to win the series finale 3-2 and eliminate Quintana Roo from the playoffs, with Roberto Ramos driving in a run with a sac fly to tie the game and Kristian Delgado driving in Austin Shenton with a single to give Veracruz a lead that held up.

Acereros de Monclova (46-44) 5, Toros de Tijuana (57-31) 3 – Andretty Cordero hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to cap a three-run inning, and the Acereros won the series finale to take two of three from the Toros. With the win, the Acereros have sole possession of fourth place in the Zona Norte by a game over Jalisco with three games to play. They sit one game behind third-place Monterrey and have clinched a playoff berth. The game featured an ugly brawl that broke out in the fourth when Danry Vasquez of Monclova punched Tijuana third baseman Rodolfo Amador in the face after Amador tagged Vasquez out in a rundown.
