Saraperos de Saltillo (38-51) 9, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (34-55) 3 – Oscar Colas hit a two-run triple in the ninth to cap the win for the Saraperos. Despite the win, Saltillo was eliminated from the postseason because Union Laguna beat Aguascalientes to open up a five-game lead on Saltillo with four games to play.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (60-28) 15, Guerreros de Oaxaca (46-42) 5 (Game 1/Nine Innings) – The Diablos won the completion of Friday’s game, jumping out to a 10-0 lead after two innings and cruising the rest of the way behind six homers. Jon Singleton hit his 26th homer of the year, a three-run shot in the first, and Julian Ornelas homered in the first and second to drive in five runs, while Franklin Barreto, Juan Carlos Gamboa, and Ramon Flores each hit solo homers for the Reds. Aristides Aquino hit a pair of solo homers for the Guerreros.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (61-28) 7, Guerreros de Oaxaca (46-43) 6 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Ramon Flores’ solo homer in the second was the difference, giving the Diablos the win in the second game of the doubleheader and lowering their magic number for home field advantage throughout the playoffs to one. Flores and Francisco Mejia each drove in two runs for the Diablos. Andres Sosa hit a three-run homer for Oaxaca.

El Aguila de Veracruz (41-48) 4, Tigres de Quintana Roo (43-46) 3 – The Tigres coughed up a 3-0 lead to lose their eighth straight game. Daniel Montano singled home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth for Veracruz. While El Aguila has been eliminated from the playoffs, the Tigres are still alive, but need to win all four remaining games and they’ll need Oaxaca to lose all of their remaining games to make the postseason due to their late-season collapse.

Olmecas de Tabasco (52-36) 3, Bravos de Leon (47-42) 2 (11 Innings) – Carlos Arellano’s single in the 11th scored Angelo Castellano to give the Olmecas a 3-2 win. With four games remaining, Leon could still finish as high as third or as low as seventh, though a playoff miss would require Quintana Roo winning four straight games, and they haven’t won in their last eight.

Leones de Yucatan (31-55) 1, Pericos de Puebla (46-41) 0 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – Raul Carrillo allowed two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings, and Breyvic Valera’s single in the top of the third scored Marco Jaime with the game’s only run.

Pericos de Puebla (47-41) 2, Leones de Yucatan (31-56) 1 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Juan Kirk’s second-inning ground out to third with runners at the corners got Samar Leyva home with the go-ahead run, and the Pericos held on for the win in the second game of the double header. The Pericos sit a game behind third-place Campeche and a game and a half ahead of Leon with four games to play, and have clinched a playoff berth.

Lowlight Reel: Acereros de Monclova Give Up Rare Inside-the-Park Grand Slam

Algodoneros de Union Laguna (43-46) 10, Rieleros de Aguascalientes (40-45) 6 – Eguy Rosario hit his 12th homer of the year and drove in two runs, and starter Brandon Brennan threw six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks as the Algodoneros took sole possession of sixth place, dropping the Rieleros to seventh place. Adrian Tovalin hit a two-run homer, and Albert Lara had a pair of RBIs for Union Laguna in the win.

Sultanes de Monterrey (46-43) 2, Dorados de Chihuahua (35-54) 1 – Gustavo Nunez’ sixth-inning double scored Jose Cardona with the game-winner, and four relievers combined to hold the lead for Monterrey over the final four innings. With the win, the Sultanes have a one-game lead on Jalisco and Monclova for third place in the Zona Norte.

Charros de Jalisco (45-44) 5, Caliente de Durango (50-39) 4 – Allen Cordoba singled home Michael Wielansky in the bottom of the ninth to give the Charros the win and move them into a tie for fourth place with Monclova. Benji Gil’s club could still finish as high as second or as low as seventh, though a playoff berth is all but assured barring a Quintana Roo-like collapse.

Conspiradores de Queretaro (35-53) 4, Piratas de Campeche (48-40) 2 – Junior Guerra allowed two runs on three hits over seven innings, walking four and striking out nine, and Keven Lamas and Roel Santos hit back-t0-back homers in the third for Queretaro. The Piratas remain in third place in the Zona Sur despite the loss, one game ahead of Puebla and 1 1/2 games ahead of Leon.

Acereros de Monclova (45-44) 6, Toros de Tijuana (57-30) 3 – Ryan Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, and two RBIs as Monclova beat first-place Tijuana to move into a tie for fourth place with Jalisco. The Acereros can still finish as high as third or as low as seventh.
