Pericos de Puebla 5, Olmecas de Tabasco 1 - The Pericos broke a tied game open with four runs in the top of the seventh behind a bases loaded walk to Henry Ramos and a two-run single by Luis Castro to take a 1-0 series lead over second-seeded Tabasco.

It was the second big hit of the game for Castro, who tied the game at one apiece with a solo homer in the second.

Cristhian Adames singled home Herlis Rodriguez for Puebla's first run in the seventh.

Daniel Camarena allowed one run on five hits over five innings, striking out five and walking none for the Olmecas, while Puebla's Vladimir Gutierrez allowed one run on five hits, striking out five and walking one.

Game 2 is tonight at 8 p.m. EDT, with Fernando Lozano starting for Puebla against Austin Warner for Tabasco.

Sultanes de Monterrey 4, Toros de Tijuana 0 - Josh Lester hit a solo homer in the second and a two-run homer in the top of the third to power the Sultanes past the Toros and even the series at one game apiece.

Monterrey starter Daniel Mengden threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing five hits while walking two and striking out six before turning the ball over to the bullpen.

Four Sultanes relievers combined to throw the final 3 1/3 innings, allowing a hit and two walks while preserving the shutout.

The series now moves to Monterrey, where Game 3 is scheduled for Monday night at 8:30 p.m. EDT. The Toros announced Daniel Martinez as their Game 3 starter. He'll face Monterrey's Daniel Cruz.
