N.C. State right-handed pitcher Jacob Dudan will miss the remainder of the 2026 college baseball season due to a UCL injury.
Dudan is a junior and was putting together his best season to date. In 50 innings of work, he had a 3.60 ERA with 62 strikeouts. He also allowed an opposing batting average of .229.
Dudan’s latest start was against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on April 4. He pitched a season-high 7 2/3 innings and struck out six Notre Dame hitters. Over that same stretch, Dudan allowed just one earned run.
That game resulted in a 7-6 win for N.C. State, which led to them sweeping Notre Dame.
Dudan and his shift from a big-time reliever to a big-time starter
Dudan became a good starter for the Wolfpack this season. This shows a great transition from being a great reliever in 2025 until now.
In 2025, he had a 3.90 ERA in 30 innings of work. Over that same stretch, he struck out 41 hitters.
During the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Dudan had 11 saves for N.C. State.
He was a valuable bullpen arm for the Wolfpack during his first two collegiate seasons.
Up next for N.C. State
The N.C. State Wolfpack have a 22-11 overall record this season. They are also 6-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
They play the Duke Blue Devils in a weekend series from April 10-12 at Dail Park in Raleigh.
