LEXINGTON, Ky. - On Sunday, October 25, the Kentucky Wildcats played against the Morehead State Eagles in a fall exhibition game at Kentucky Proud Park.

The two teams played 14 total innings. However, the Wildcats got the win over the Eagles through the first nine innings by a score of 22-6.

Freshman catcher homers for Kentucky and wins a few ABS challenges

In the second inning, freshman catcher Carson May hit a solo home run for Kentucky to tie the exhibition game at 3-3.

May played for Olathe East High School in Kansas and was a top five high school player in the state, according to Perfect Game. He was also a borderline top 100 player in the 2026 high school class.

May is one of the biggest incoming freshmen for the Wildcats, along with potential two-way player Grayson Willoughby. Kentucky had a top 15 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.

May showed great feel behind the plate defensively for the Wildcats on Sunday. He was able to successfully challenge multiple pitches using college baseball’s new ABS system. The system was introduced during the 2026 SEC Tournament in Hoover.

Hudson Brown and Ethan Hindle make an impact on offense

The Kentucky offense was able to score at will thanks to some big plays by Hudson Brown and Ethan Hindle.

Brown had a two-run RBI knock in the third inning, which was his second hit of the day. Shortly after that, Hindle hit a two-run home run to extend Kentucky’s lead. Hindle also grounded out in the first inning, but that allowed the Wildcats to score their first run of the game.

Brown added his third hit of the game in the fourth inning against the Eagles. That hit also scored two more runs for Kentucky. In the seventh inning, Brown had another big hit with a solo home run that bounced over the center field fence.

Both Brown and Hindle are seniors entering the 2027 season. They provide the Wildcats with lots of experience.

Brown is coming off his best season for Kentucky in 2026 where he had a .333 batting average with a 1.028 OPS. He also had 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 39 RBIs. Brown was able to draw more walks (28) than strikeouts (27) in 2026.

Hindle was a big-time power hitter for Kentucky in 2026. He had 12 home runs and a .306 batting average last season. The Wisconsin native also had a 1.050 OPS, 19 doubles, and 53 RBIs for the Wildcats.

Hindle has some speed as well, and that allowed him to steal 16 bases on 16 attempts in 2026. He is a big-time offensive weapon for Kentucky.

Both Brown and Hindle will be major players within the 2027 Wildcats batting lineup.

JUCO transfer Dylan McIntyre with a good second inning on the mound

Right-handed pitcher Dylan McIntyre got the start on the mound for the Wildcats against Morehead State on Sunday.

Despite a rough first inning where he allowed three runs, McIntyre stayed poised and delivered a solid second frame. In the second inning, the right-hander had a 1-2-3 frame that included two strikeouts.

McIntyre transferred to Kentucky this offseason after playing for San Jacinto College in 2026. During his freshman year at the JUCO level, he had a 4.20 ERA in 40 ⅔ innings. Over that same stretch, he had 47 strikeouts and picked up five wins.

Kentucky with a non-conference game in Pensacola

The Kentucky Wildcats will play a non-conference game in Pensacola, Fla. at the beginning of the 2027 college baseball season.

They will play the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns at Blue Wahoos Stadium on Tuesday, February 23. The ballpark is the home of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The time for the game is still to be determined.
