Aaron Nola went seven scoreless, and the Phillies won their fourth straight. Here’s everything you missed from yesterday in the MLB.

Phillies 5, Astros 0

  • The Phillies won their fourth straight after Aaron Nola pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, and had six strikeouts. Nick Castellanos capped off a four-run third inning with a three-run homer to give Philadelphia the early lead.

Royals 6, Guardians 1

  • The Royals won their third straight against Cleveland and moved into a tie atop the AL Central. Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer in the second to give Kansas City the lead. Michael Massey hit an RBI single that finished off a three-run seventh inning for the Royals. Kansas City is 23-13 since the all-star break, where they trailed the Guardians by seven games.

Tigers 6, Angels 2

  • Jake Rogers hit a home run in the fifth that gave Detroit the lead before Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter added to the lead with homers of their own and gave the Tigers their fifth straight victory. Brant Hurter allowed two runs in five innings of work for his second win of the year. The Tigers are five and a half games out of a wild card spot.

A’s 5, Reds 4

  • Max Schuemann gave Oakland the lead with a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Lawrence Butler hit a two-run homer of his own two batters later to give the A’s a cushion.

Cubs 9, Pirates 5

  • Seiya Suzuki and Dansby Swanson both hit two-run homers as a part of a five-run fourth inning that put Chicago on top. The Cubs have won five of their last six and moved over .500 for the first time since late May. Justin Steele allowed two runs and had six strikeouts over six innings.

Nationals 4, Yankees 2

  • Washington took the second game of their series against the Yankees thanks to back-to-back homers from Andres Chaparro and Jose Tena in the fourth inning. Dylan Crews picked up his first career hit on a double in the second during a 2-for-4 night. Patrick Corbin allowed two hits and zero runs across six innings for the Nats.

Red Sox 6, Blue Jays 3

  • Jarren Duran led the game off with a home run, and Masataka Yoshida added a two-RBI single to finish the first inning with Boston on top. Three more runs in the fifth gave the Red Sox some insurance and helped end the Blue Jays six game losing streak. Boston is four games back of the final AL wild-card spot.

Braves 8, Twins 6

  • Matt Olsen drove in the tiebreaking run after reaching on a fielder’s choice, which sparked a four-run 10th inning that gave the Braves the win. Atlanta won their fifth game in the last six after late-game heroics made up for surrendering a four-run lead earlier. The Braves remain in the third NL wild card spot.

Padres 7, Cardinals 5

  • The Padres won their third straight game after Jake Cronenworth gave them the lead on a single in the seventh. Manny Machado homered for the second straight day to begin a four-run second inning for San Diego. The Padres own the second spot in the NL wild-card race.

Giants 5, Brewers 4

  • The teams combined for five home runs, with the last one of the game coming off the bat of Mike Yastrzemski, who drove two in with a homer in the seventh that gave the Giants the lead. San Francisco is five and a half games behind the Braves for the final wild-card spot in the NL.

Marlins 9, Rockies 8

  • The Marlins rallied from a six-run deficit after scoring five runs in the ninth inning. Jake Burger hit a double that brought Miami within two before Jesus Sanchez hit a three-run homer that put the Marlins on top. Ezequiel Tovar had two home runs and drove in four runs for the Rockies in a losing effort.

Mets 8, Diamondbacks 3

  • Sean Manaea had 11 strikeouts, and the Mets ended Arizona’s winning streak at six games. Pete Alonso hit a solo homer in the second inning, putting the Mets on top before a six-run fifth that grew the New York lead. The Mets are three games out of the wild card.

Rays 3, Mariners 2

  • Jose Siri hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning to help the Rays take the second game of the series. Logan Gilbert had ten strikeouts and did not allow a run in six innings pitched. After the loss, the Mariners are three and a half games behind the Astros in the AL West.

Orioles 3, Dodgers 2

  • Baltimore won the first game of their interleague series in Los Angeles and their third game in the last four thanks to a Ramon Urias go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth. The Orioles trail the Yankees by one game for the AL East lead.
