Dashel Duquesne, who has pitched for 15 seasons in Cuba’s Serie Nacional, has left the island for Mexico, according to a report from PelotaCubanaUSA’s Yoan Piedra.

Duquesne, 37, is a 6-foot-2, 197-pound native of Ciego de Avila, Cuba, has played all or part of each of his 14 seasons in the Serie Nacional with the Tigres de Ciego de Avila, and has also played for Artemisa, Cienfuegos, and Matanzas, posting a career ERA of 4.28 over 1,167 innings across 258 appearances, striking out 593 batters with a WHIP of 1.416 through the 2022-23 Serie Nacional season, according to Baseball Reference, which does not have complete statistical records for the Serie Nacional.

According to PelotaCubanaUSA, Duquesne went 101-77 with 726 strikeouts in his career in Cuba with 26 saves, and became the 82nd pitcher to win 100 Serie Nacional games on June 9, 2024, going 8 2/3 innings and allowing one earned run and nine hits, striking out five and walking none in a 5-1 win against Cienfuegos.

His departure from Cuba was first reported on the Tigres Avelinos facebook page.

Outside of the Serie Nacional, Duquesne has pitched for the Ganaderos de Spiritus Sancti in the inaugural Cuban Elite League season in 2022, which was marked his final season in Cuba. He also pitched for the Cuba national team that played tours against the teams of the independent Canadian-American Association in 2015-16 and 2016-17, throwing 18 1/3 innings over eight appearances with an 8.84 ERA.
