Top Matchups to Watch in College Baseball this Weekend (April 25-27)

Here the college baseball matchups fans should tune in to from April 25-27.

Tennessee Volunteers v. LSU Tigers – Alex Box Stadium, Baton Rouge, La. – Two of the best teams in the Southeastern conference will square off against each other in Baton Rouge this weekend. Head coach Tony Vitello and his Tennessee Volunteers are looking to rebound after a series loss against Kentucky.

However, winning a series at LSU will not be easy. The Tigers just defeated Alabama in a weekend series in Alex Box Stadium.  LSU has won 25 games this season at home.

UC Irvine Anteaters v. Cal Poly Mustangs – Baggett Stadium, San Luis Obispo, Calif. – Two of the best teams in the Big West conference will collide in San Luis Obispo, Calif. California-Irvine enters as possibly the best mid-major team in all of college baseball with a 16-2 record in conference play.

As for Cal Poly, they have also thrived in conference play with a 15-3 record. This matchup can really dictate the winner of the Big West and is arguably the biggest set of games in the conference all season.

Texas A&M Aggies v. Texas Longhorns – Disch-Falk Field, Austin, Texas – For now, the Texas Longhorns are maintaining their throne as the number one team in college baseball. However, their biggest rival, Texas A&M, is in town for one of the best matchups to watch.

The Texas A&M Aggies are coming off a definitive series win in Arkansas. That win in Fayetteville symbolized their resurgence in SEC play.

A series win for Texas will put them on a great path toward winning the SEC championship their first year in the league. A series win for Texas A&M puts them that much closer to being a regional host after looking lethargic in non-conference play.
