Wednesday, Topps provided trading card collectors an opportunity to invest their money in the next generation of baseball prospects.
Topps released the 2024 Bowman Chrome collection on Wednesday. It featured a plethora of top-tier international prospects, including Leodalis De Vries, Paulino Santana, Jose Perdomo, Adolfo Sanchez, Dawel Joseph, and Daiber De Los Santos.
De Vries, the No. 1 international prospect and No. 44 overall prospect in the MLB, is the only player from this class ranked in the top 100 players.
Each player has 150 signed cards available.
The Bowman Chrome release is one of the most anticipated card releases for baseball card collectors. Collectors have the opportunity to scout, pull, and trade cards for players who haven’t made their mark in the MLB but could in the future. For example, if De Vries were to turn into the MLB’s next superstar shortstop, people with his rookie prospect card from this release would have gotten it for a bargain.
The Bowman Chrome hobby boxes currently retail for $279.99 on Topps, while a case with 12 boxes sells for $3,359.99.
