Cuba has added another preparation game to its’ schedule in advance of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Pelota Cubana’s Yussef Diaz reported.
The game, between Cuba and the Nippon Professional Baseball’s Yakult Swallows, will be played February 21, with the previously-scheduled game between Cuba and the Yomiuri Giants moving to February 22.
Cuba will face five NPB teams, the Swallows, the Nippon Ham-Fighters, Chunichi Dragons, Yomiuri Giants, and Fukouka Softbank Hawks, as well as CPBL teams from February 26-28 and March 5-6, including games against CPBL expansion team Taiwan Steel Group (TSG) Hawks, before play begins in Pool A at Taichung Intercontinental Stadium.
Cuba opens the World Baseball Classic on Wednesday, March 8, at 11 p.m. ET against the Netherlands at Taichung City, Taiwan.
