Oregon Ducks (33-13, 16-8 Big Ten, +2 from last week) – The Oregon Ducks came up with a series win over the Michigan State Spartans that propels them into the number one spot. After being shut out in the first game, the Ducks scored 13 runs in the win during the middle game and eventually went on to win the series.
North Carolina Tar Heels (35-10, 15-9 ACC, (-) from last week) – The North Carolina Tar Heels did not play a weekend series, which keeps them from jumping into the number one spot. However, two midweek wins over George Mason and Queens University keep them at number two.
Georgia Bulldogs (39-11, 15-9 SEC, +2 from last week) – The Georgia Bulldogs swept Missouri over the weekend to beef up their SEC record. Slate Alford was the hero for Georgia in Columbia as he hit a go-ahead home run in the final game of the series to solidify the sweep.
Arkansas Razorbacks (40-9, 17-7 SEC, +5 from last week) – Arkansas takes a big jump back into the top five after sweeping the Texas Longhorns. Head coach Dave Van Horn’s team is the first team in college baseball to get 40 wins this season.
Florida State Seminoles (33-10, 14-7 ACC, +5 from last week) – The Florida State Seminoles defeated Clemson in a home series at Dick Howser Stadium. Head coach Link Jarrett’s team put up 20 runs in the winner-take-all final game of the series to collect a statement series win.
Texas Longhorns (38-8, 19-5 SEC, -5 from last week) – Texas drops out of the number one ranking after holding the spot for three weeks. The Longhorns were swept in Fayetteville. The lineup was held to just one run through the first two games of the series.
LSU Tigers (38-11, 15-9 SEC, -3 from last week) – After LSU gained lots of momentum from a series win against Tennessee, the Tigers came up short with a series loss against Texas A&M in College Station. The offense was not as explosive as a week ago, as LSU scored seven runs all weekend.
Oregon State Beavers (34-12, +3 from last week) – Oregon State jumps back into the top ten after a series win over Hawaii. Pitching was the key for the Beavers in their wins during the first two games as they held the Rainbow Warriors to six runs in those matchups.
N.C. State Wolfpack (30-15, 15-8 ACC, -3 from last week) – N.C. State lost both games that they were able to play against the Miami Hurricanes. The third game in Coral Gables was cancelled, therefore, it is a sweep for all intents and purposes.
Clemson Tigers (37-12, 14-10 ACC, -3 from last week) – Clemson squandered a major opportunity for a big series win against Florida State. Despite winning the middle game of the series, the Tigers imploded in the third game as they gave up 20 runs to the Seminoles.
Tennessee Volunteers (37-11, 14-10 SEC, -3 from last week) – The Tennessee Volunteers are not trending in a good direction as the college baseball season has entered the month of May. A series loss this weekend against the Auburn Tigers now makes it three straight series losses for head coach Tony Vitello’s team.
Troy Trojans (34-14, 16-8 Sun Belt, +1 from last week) – Troy had a come-from-behind win against South Alabama on Sunday to secure a series win. The Trojans are now on the cusp of being the first mid-major in WBN’s top 15 rankings this season.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (37-11, 20-4 Sun Belt, +3 from last week) – Coastal Carolina takes a big leap in the rankings after a series sweep over Appalachian State. The Chanticleers have now won 20 conference games and seven games in a row.
Vanderbilt Commodores (34-14, 14-10 SEC, +4 from last week) – A series win over Alabama in Nashville gave Vanderbilt some breathing room with their SEC record. Braden Holcomb walked off the final game of the series and was the hero for head coach Tim Corbin’s team.
UC Irvine Anteaters (34-11, 20-4 Big West, -3 from last week) – UC San Diego handed UC Irvine a series loss over the weekend, halting the Anteaters’ fantastic play in the Big West. Head coach Ben Orloff’s team gave up 19 runs in the first game.
Auburn Tigers (33-15, 13-11 SEC, +4 from last week) – The Auburn Tigers defeated Tennessee on the road in Knoxville over the weekend. Back-to-back series wins have the Tigers trending in the right direction with the regular season coming down to the wire.
Oklahoma Sooners (32-14, 13-11 SEC, +2 from last week) – Oklahoma came up with a crucial series win over the Ole Miss Rebels in L. Dale Mitchell Park. The pitching during the first two games was outstanding for the Sooners as they held the Rebels to just three runs during those matchups.
Dallas Baptist Patriots (33-13, 16-5 C-USA, +3 from last week) – Dallas Baptist swept a tough Florida International team over the weekend. This is a significant statement for the Patriots as they enter the month of May on a high note. Head coach Dan Heefner’s team scored 27 runs throughout the whole weekend.
TCU Horned Frogs (33-15, 15-9 Big 12, -5 from last week) – A series loss to the Arizona Wildcats sends the TCU Horned Frogs backward in the rankings. Head coach Kirk Sarloos’ team did salvage the final game of the series to get out of Tucson with a win.
Ole Miss Rebels (33-15, 13-11 SEC, -5 from last week) – Ole Miss took a step back after a series loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. The offense for the Rebels just could not get going in the first two games. Ole Miss did salvage the final game, winning 7-3.
West Virginia Mountaineers (39-7, 18-4 Big 12, +1 from last week) – West Virginia moves up one spot after taking two out of three games from Texas Tech over the weekend. A historically good year for baseball in Morgantown is continuing as college baseball enters its final month.
UCLA Bruins (34-13, 17-7 Big Ten, -5 from last week) – The UCLA Bruins lost their series against their archrival USC over the weekend. Head coach John Savage’s team faltered in the final two games of the weekend. They gave up 18 runs to the Trojans in those two games combined.
Arizona Wildcats (33-14, 15-9 Big 12, +1 from last week) – Arizona remains steady in the top 25 after a big series win against TCU. The Wildcats have now won 23 games at home in Hi Corbett Field this season.
Southern Miss Golden Eagles (35-13, 18-6 Sun Belt, (-) from last week) – Southern Miss is back in the top 25 after they got a series sweep over the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The Golden Eagles have now won nine games in a row.
Florida Gators (33-16, 11-13 SEC, (-) from last week) – Florida swept the South Carolina Gamecocks over the weekend, and they have done wonders in recent weeks to push them back into the top 25. The Gators have won 10 of their last 12 SEC games.

Matchups to Watch this Week in College Baseball (May 5-May 11)
Clemson Tigers v. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (May 6) – One of the best mid-majors in college baseball will welcome the Clemson Tigers to Conway, S.C. for a big matchup in the midweek slate. Coastal Carolina already defeated Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium this season, making this a big game to watch.
Alabama Crimson Tide v. Troy Trojans (May 6) – After a series loss against Vanderbilt, Alabama will have a tough game to bounce back in against the Troy Trojans on the road at Riddle-Pace Field.
Vanderbilt Commodores v. Louisville Cardinals (May 6) – Louisville will host Vanderbilt in possibly their biggest midweek game this season. The Cardinals are looking to bounce back against a great pitching team from the SEC.
