Florida State was a familiar midweek opponent for Jacksonville last season. The Dolphins went 0-3 in games against the Seminoles in 2026.
However, Jacksonville did beat the Florida Gators in two midweek games this past season. It was the highlight of the team's 2026 college baseball season.
The North Florida Ospreys finished the 2026 college baseball season with a 31-24 overall record and an impressive 22-8 record in Atlantic Sun play. The Ospreys finished with the top conference record in the Atlantic Sun and were first in the conference's Graphite Division.
North Florida played Florida State twice last season in midweek games. The Seminoles defeated the Ospreys in both games they played.
North Florida also just extended their head coach Joe Mercadante through the 2030 college baseball season. The 2026 season was Mercadante's third season with the Ospreys, and it was his best season with the team.
