Here are the World Baseball Network’s top 25 NCAA Division I baseball rankings for April 28.
The number next to the team’s name indicates how much they moved from last week’s rankings. A (-) sign indicates no movement and/or a new team into the top 25.
1. Texas Longhorns (37-5, 19-2 SEC, (-) from last week) – Texas remains No. 1 in the country for the third straight week. The Longhorns swept their archrival, Texas A&M, at home in Austin. Head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s team is the undoubted number one team in the country now.
2. North Carolina Tar Heels (33-10, 15-9 ACC, +1 from last week) – The North Carolina Tar Heels slide into the No. 2 spot after a series win against Pittsburgh. Despite dropping the middle game, North Carolina outscored the Panthers 21-5 in the two games they won and shut them out in the series finale.
3. Oregon Ducks (30-12, 14-7 Big Ten, +3 from last week) – Oregon made their biggest statement of the season after a sweep of their rival Oregon State. The pitching was fantastic for the Ducks, as they held the Beavers to just five runs all weekend.
4. LSU Tigers (36-9, 14-7 SEC, +5 from last week) – The LSU Tigers defeated the defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers in a series at home. Jared Jones played a big role in setting the tone with a massive walk-off home run to get the win on Friday. Then, the Tigers defeated the Vols in a run-rule on Sunday to cap off the win.
5. Georgia Bulldogs (35-11, 12-9 SEC, +5 from last week) – Being back at home in Athens clearly made the Bulldogs more comfortable. Georgia defeated Oklahoma in a weekend series at Foley Field. They did this all while one of their best hitters, Ryland Zaborowski, was unhealthy.
6. N.C. State Wolfpack (30-12, 15-6 ACC, +5 from last week) – North Carolina State made a huge statement after sweeping Clemson at home in Raleigh. The pitching was very good for the Wolfpack as they held Clemson’s offense to just eight runs all weekend.
7. Clemson Tigers (36-10, 13-8 ACC, -5 from last week) – Clemson got swept on the road against North Carolina State this weekend to stop the momentum they had shooting toward the top of the rankings. The Tigers just did not look as good as they normally have been on offense.
8. Tennessee Volunteers (35-9, 13-8 SEC, -3 from last week) – Tennessee has now lost back-to-back series in SEC play after coming up short in Baton Rouge. Despite winning the middle game of the series, costly errors and sub-par pitching were the results of Tennessee’s two losses against LSU.
9. Arkansas Razorbacks (37-9, 14-7 SEC, -2 from last week) – Arkansas was only able to win one of three games in Gainesville as Florida defeated them in the weekend series. It was an unusually short start for Landon Beidelschies in Sunday’s game when the Gators scored nine runs.

11. Oregon State Beavers (32-10, -7 from last week) – Oregon State drops out of the top 10 after being swept by their rival Oregon. The Beavers could not adjust to the Ducks’ pitching and it caused their offense to look out of shape.
