MLB Pipeline.com currently has him ranked in their Top 100 prospects at 97. A Baseball America scout told World Baseball Network that they could see Lombard Jr. being ranked in their top 30 prospects before the end of this season.
He has a baseball background, with his father, George Lombard Sr., a former MLB player and now a coach with the Detroit Tigers. Lombard’s younger brother, Jacob Lombard, is a top prospect in the 2026 class for high school baseball, and he will also graduate from Gulliver Prep.
Last season, Lombard played the majority of his games with the Yankees’ low-A affiliate, the Tampa Tarpons, and got promoted to the Renegades in August 2024. His combined numbers at both levels in 2024 were five home runs, 45 RBI, 11 stolen bases, and a slash line of .231/.338/.334 in 425 at-bats.
