Owen Hull played a huge part in sending the North Carolina Tar Heels to the 2026 College World Series in Omaha. North Carolina won game three of the Chapel Hill super regional 4-3 against the USC Trojans.
A recap of Hull and his big day in Chapel Hill
For most of the game, the Tar Heels struggled to find runs as USC led until the ninth inning. However, this did not stop Hull from having a huge game.
The junior from Alexandria, Va. had four doubles in the win over USC on Sunday. He accounted for nearly half of North Carolina’s hitting in the College World Series-clinching victory.
The biggest play of the game came from Hull at the bottom of the ninth inning. The score was 3-3, and Hull was up to bat with runners at first and second base. Hull sent a ball deep into center field. USC center fielder Kevin Takeuchi was unable to make a play on the baseball, and Hull walked the game off on his fourth double of the game.
