Liga Mexicana de Beisbol: Toros de Tijuana Win On Turner’s First Inning RBI; Algodoneros Thump Durango 10-2

Conspiradores de Queretaro (18-24) 5, Tigres de Quintana Roo (17-23) 2 – Rangel Ravelo drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth, then the Conspiradores got a double play on Diosbel Arias’ sac fly in the bottom of the ninth when the relay throw beat Arturo Rodriguez home, ending the game and giving Queretaro the win. Yangervis Solarte hit his 13th homer of the year for the Conspiradores in the win.

Piratas de Campeche (16-24) 3, Leones de Yucatan (14-27) 1 – Fernando Perez drove in a pair of runs with an eighth inning single to give Campeche its 16th win of the year, and Feliz Perez hit a solo homer in the fourth for the Piratas. Henry Ramos’ solo homer in the second drove in the Leones’ lone run, and Ronnie Williams allowed one run on three hits in five innings of work for Yucatan.

Olmecas de Tabasco (25-15) at Diablos Rojos del Mexico (25-16) – Postponed due to rain and rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on June 6.

Guerreros de Oaxaca (25-18) 5, El Aguila de Veracruz (18-24) 3 – Oaxaca built a 5-1 lead early and hung on to win for just hte second time in its last 10 games. Guerreros starter Luis Miranda allowed two runs in the sixth before exiting the game, having tossed five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while recording seven strikeouts.

Bravos de Leon (25-17) 8, Pericos de Puebla (22-19) 0 – Zac Lowther allowed three hits over six shutout innings, walking two and striking out five for Leon. Magneuris Sierra went 3-for-5 and Esteban Quiroz hit a two-run double for the Bravos in the first.

Acereros de Monclova (23-20) 8, Sultanes de Monterrey (25-17) 5 (11 Innings) – Wilson Garcia, Jacob Rhinesmith, and Juan Mora each hit RBI singles in the top of the 11th as the Acereros took the series opener from Monterrey in extra innings. Mora went 2-for-4 in the game with a triple and four RBIs for Monclova. Victor Mendoza hit his seventh homer of the year for Monterrey, a two-run shot in the fifth.

Dorados de Chihuahua (16-27) 5, Saraperos de Saltillo (13-27) 3 – Andre Lipcius went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Aaron Lugo hit his first homer of the year in the win for the Dorados, and starter Caleb Smith allowed two runs on six hits and a walk in five innings.

Algodoneros de Union Laguna (18-25) 10, Caliente de Durango (21-21) 2 – Eguy Rosario went 3-for-3, drove in four runs, scored three times, homered twice, and hit a triple as the Algodoneros thumped Durango in the series opener. Yadir Drake added a homer for Union Laguna, and Touki Toussaint threw six innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out five.

Charros de Jalisco (26-17) 6, Rieleros de Aguascalientes (21-22) 3 – Jared Walsh went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBIs as the Charros maintained their grip on second place in the Zona Norte. Kyle Garlick added a solo homer, and Zac Grotz allowed three runs on nine hits, striking out six in six innings for Jalisco.

Toros de Tijuana (28-13) 1, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (19-23) 0 – Justin Turner’s first-inning ground out scored Junior Lake with the game’s lone run, and the Toros pitching staff threw a combined two-hitter, striking out 11 and walking none as Tijuana maintained a 3 1/2-game lead on Jalisco in the Zona Norte. Starter Daniel Martinez allowed two hits in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win, and the Tecos never got a runner past first base.
