Andrew Fischer’s power surge and Kade Anderson’s dominant debut season highlighted the 2026 MiLB Awards Show, as Minor League Baseball recognized the players and organizations that stood out across the sport. 

The fourth annual MiLB Awards Show aired Monday night on MLB Network, honoring the top performers, prospects and organizations from the 2026 Minor League Baseball season. 

Fischer Takes Home Hitting Prospect of the Year - Milwaukee Brewers infielder Andrew Fischer was named Minor League Hitting Prospect of the Year after putting together one of the most powerful seasons in the Minors. 

Fischer, the Brewers’ No. 5 prospect, hit 50 home runs during the regular season and postseason between High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi. The 2025 first-round pick out of Tennessee posted a 1.067 OPS across 126 regular-season games in his first full professional season. 

His power production made Fischer one of the most dangerous hitters in the Minors throughout 2026. 

Anderson Earns Pitching Prospect of the Year - Seattle Mariners left-hander Kade Anderson claimed Minor League Pitching Prospect of the Year after dominating Double-A hitters in his first professional season. 

Selected No. 3 overall by Seattle in the 2025 Draft out of LSU, Anderson went 10-1 with a 1.06 ERA in 18 starts for Double-A Arkansas. He struck out 135 batters while issuing only 13 walks over 93 1/3 innings. 

Anderson’s performance earned him a callup to the majors Aug. 22, giving the highly touted left-hander his first taste of MLB action down the stretch. 

Anderson Adds Minor League Debut of the Year - Anderson also took home Minor League Debut of the Year, capping a remarkable first season in professional baseball. 

After not pitching in 2025 following his selection in the Draft, Anderson quickly established himself as one of the Minors’ most dominant arms. His performance in the Texas League helped propel him from a highly regarded prospect to a major league contributor in less than a year. 

Hartman Named Breakout Player of the Year - Atlanta Braves outfielder Eric Hartman was named Breakout Player of the Year after emerging as one of the Minors’ biggest surprises in 2026. 

Hartman, the Braves’ No. 1 prospect and MLB No. 39 prospect, was selected in the 20th round of the 2024 Draft and entered the season outside MLB Pipeline’s Top 100. 

The outfielder excelled in 94 games with High-A Rome, becoming the second-fastest player in the past two decades to reach 20 home runs and 30 stolen bases. Hartman finished the season with at least 25 homers and 50 steals, becoming the first Minor Leaguer to reach both marks in a season since Andruw Jones in 1995. 

Salas Wins Defensive Player of the Year - San Diego Padres catcher Ethan Salas was named Defensive Player of the Year, continuing to build his reputation as one of the Minors’ premier defenders behind the plate. 

The Padres’ No. 1 prospect and MLB No. 21 prospect appeared in 96 games between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso before making his MLB debut Sept. 2. 

Salas is widely regarded for his defensive ability, including a plus arm and plus-plus glove. He also contributed to San Diego’s run to the postseason after joining the club late in the regular season. 

Giants Named Farm System of the Year - The San Francisco Giants were recognized as the 2026 Farm System of the Year after a season that showcased the depth and talent throughout their organization. 

San Francisco finished the season with five prospects on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list and posted the highest overall organizational winning percentage in baseball. The Giants also made the biggest jump in MLB Pipeline’s farm system rankings from the preseason to the midseason update, rising from No. 19 to No. 5. 

Jackson Flora, the No. 4 pick in the July Draft, immediately made an impact, pitching in playoff series with Single-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond. 

Teenage prospects Josuar Gonzalez and Luis Hernández also impressed after tearing through the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League before finishing the season with Single-A San Jose. 

The Giants further strengthened their system by acquiring Ramon Marquez from the Philadelphia Phillies. The right-hander posted a 2.22 ERA in 14 appearances during the 2026 season. 

Dodgers Lead All-MiLB Prospect Team Selections - The Los Angeles Dodgers led all organizations with four selections to the 2026 All-MiLB Prospect Team. 

Outfielders Josue De Paula and Mike Sirota earned first-team honors, while shortstop Emil Morales and relief pitcher Jacob Kmatz were named to the second team. 

The St. Louis Cardinals followed with three selections. Outfielder Rodriguez and reliever Sandro Santana earned first-team honors, while outfielder Josiah Ragsdale was selected to the second team. 

A Season of Breakout Performances - From Fischer’s 50-home run power display to Anderson’s dominant rise from the Draft to the major leagues, the 2026 MiLB Awards Show recognized a season filled with breakout performances and emerging stars. 

The awards also highlighted the depth behind those individual accomplishments, with the Giants’ organizational success and the All-MiLB Prospect Team showcasing the next wave of talent preparing to make an impact at the highest level.
